Penelope Stout

Penelope was married several times, the first time to Thomas Jewell who died in 1727.  After William died after being struck by lighting in 1740 she married Isaac Herrin in 1756.  She lived in Hopewell Township until she died and was not part of the group the left for North Carolina.  She was apparently wealthy and didn't want to worry about taking part in settling William's estate after he died.  It would have been more difficult than usual because he had died intestate since his death was accidental.

William and Penelope had three sons and one daughter.  Penelope also had at least one one child, a daughter, with Thomas Jewell.  And I think that's all I've found about Penelope.

We are descended through two of Penelope's sons (twice through Benjamin).  I hope the links above make sense.
